From the road, you’ll have to climb up the embankment and find an unmarked path that clearly leads to the Raquette River. The river bank is 0.1 miles from the highway and hikers can walk another 0.1 miles to explore the shoreline before running into private land. Please respect private property.

How to get there
Take Route 30 north from Long Lake towards Tupper Lake. From the intersection of Route 3 and Route 30 in the Village of Tupper Lake follow Route 3 toward Cranberry Lake. Continue to Sevey Corners and take a right onto Route 56. Continue for 1.5 miles to the trailhead on the right. Continue for 1.5 miles to reach the path on the right. There is a DEC “Canoe Carry” marker on a stump at the top of an embankment alongside the road.
